If you are over 18 you can become a crisis classroom volunteer. There is no minimum commitment, no obligation to ‘sign-up;. Once trained you do what you can, when you can, where you can. We’ve trained volunteers from all ages and backgrounds; from an 81-year-old swimming instructor in Tuscany, to refugee poets, dancers & Taekwondo instructors. We have volunteers who are knitters, doctors, deputy head teachers, musicians, students, chefs & more. People use their volunteering skills in their local communities, refugee camps and in support accomodation centres. To become a CC volunteer educator all you need to be is human, have passion & know-how and be willing to share your skills, time and expertise with others. We will show you how to do the rest. You don’t need to know how to do everything. You bring your one thing and someone else will bring their thing. Whether that is nail-art or nano-technology it is all relevant. We are creating a patchwork of skills, knowledge, expertise and language. Each person, each lesson, each project adds to this patchwork to build the bigger picture. Our response to the refugee crisis is to bring educational solutions person by person, lesson by lesson, classroom by classroom, country by country, one day at a time.
